About the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Partnership

Culture Radar worked with Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Partnership Steering Group to research a delivery model for the region-wide Cultural Partnership to adopt.

The role of the Cultural Partnership will be to coordinate and oversee delivery of the Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway 2022 - 2030, and drive the initial three-year action plan delivering the Strategy’s ambitions.

It is envisaged that membership of the Cultural Partnership will include Dumfries and Galloway Council, culture and heritage sector representatives and non-cultural partners.

Supported by:

  • Dumfries and Galloway Council
  • South of Scotland Enterprise
  • Creative Scotland Recovery Fund for Cultural Organisations

About the Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway

The Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway was approved by the Council’s Communities Committee in March 2022, with a key recommendation to establish a Cultural Partnership.

The strategy was developed in 2019 by Dumfries and Galloway Council. The Council worked closely with regional reference groups including culture sector representatives, and non-culture sector stakeholders through the Dumfries and Galloway Community Learning and Development Partnership. The strategy builds on extensive engagement conducted with these groups.
